Where Can an OPL Logging Operator Seek Assistance?
A goal of the OPL Program is fostering OPL logging operator compliance with the Oregon Forest Practices Act and sustainable forestry requirements. First and foremost, forest practices rule compliance problems should be resolved using all means available between the Department of Forestry Forest Practices Forester (FPF) and OPL logging operator.
In the rare event an FPF and OPL logging operator are unable to sufficiently resolve forest practices problems over time, ODF may contact AOL. Such an inquiry might occur when citations go unresolved.
With the objective of preventing/repairing resource damage, and avoiding civil penalties, an AOL staff forester would offer a voluntary consultation with the logging operator, FPF and others as appropriate to help resolve the problem.
